Ok Noted Nilesh. There are some extra costs and complication associated with the Linux version so we are trying to manage it.

Hey AnimSchool. I just wanted to chime in and give a vote for a Fedora 20 picker. I just switched from Windows and this is the only thing I'm missing. I'm glad to hear it's still being considered.

Just wanted to chime in!
We're an animation based company and all our animators are using the AnimschoolPicker and absolutely love it.
We're sad to see it go away as we are moving to CentOS 6.5.

I recently switched to Fedora 20 and I would love to be able to get AnimSchool Picker running.
Hope you are able to figure out those complications. Thank you!!

This is a bug report (it might be a bug, it might be by design) for the picker. When loaded from a symlinked folder, the .so does not load properly. I always get this error whether I run Maya as root or as my user account, manually or with the provided script:

Code: Select all

// Error: line 1: /home/___/maya/2015-x64/plugins/AnimSchoolPicker.so: failed to map segment from shared object: Operation not permitted (AnimSchoolPicker) //
This is not Maya's fault, I believe, because I have all my preferences and scripts in symlinked folders and they function normally. But perhaps it is Maya's fault because it's a binary file, not plain-text like MEL.

Anyway, many thanks from me for getting this over to Linux.

Maya 2015 x64
Fedora 20
Maya prefs are symlinked to my Win7 partition

Sorry no. It is a recent platform for us, so we began with the 2015.
